THE KINESIO APPROACH

Care built around your movement.

Care, coaching, and recovery should begin with the individual.

A physical therapy visit should be more than a generic routine. Kinesio emphasizes careful listening, movement-focused assessment, and a plan tailored to your individual goals.

Whether you are navigating a movement limitation, rebuilding confidence after time away from activity, or looking for guidance on a return to exercise, the first step is understanding your situation. Treatment recommendations are determined by the treating clinician.

PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES

Treatment techniques & modalities.

Kinesio lists these six physical therapy services. Your therapist can help determine which options are suitable for your needs as part of an individualized treatment plan.

01 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

TENS Therapy

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation

TENS uses low-voltage electrical impulses delivered through pads placed on the skin. It may be considered as one option for short-term pain management, depending on the patient and clinical circumstances.

02 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Ultrasonography

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves applied with a handheld treatment head and gel. A physical therapist can explain when this modality may be appropriate as part of an individualized plan.

03 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

IASTM

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

IASTM is a hands-on approach in which a clinician uses specialized instruments over soft tissues. It may be incorporated into a broader mobility or rehabilitation program following an assessment.

04 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

Normatec Compression Therapy

Pneumatic Compression

Normatec uses inflatable sleeves that rhythmically compress the arms, legs, or hips. Sessions may be used in a recovery setting, with pressure and suitability determined for the individual.

05 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

Biofeedback

Movement & Performance Monitoring

Biofeedback tools provide real-time information about selected body responses or performance measures. Depending on the equipment and goal, this may involve heart-rate or other monitoring to guide awareness and progress discussions.

06 / PHYSICAL THERAPY

Massage Therapy (Manual Therapy)

Hands-On Soft Tissue Care

Manual therapy involves a clinician using hands-on techniques on muscles and other soft tissues. Depending on the evaluation, it may be used alongside therapeutic movement and exercise to address mobility or comfort.

Not every treatment is appropriate for every person. Techniques are chosen based on a clinical assessment, patient preferences, and the therapist’s professional judgment.
